Dear Papa Bear, As you know, I went to 5starcamp for 4 weeks. During that time I had a lot of fun! Everyday there were friendly staff that guided us through tons of fun activities like: ropes course, archery, arts and crafts, multi sport and pool. Most of these activities were life-learning experiences for me and a lot of other campers that were also super fun!

In ropes, which was my favourite, I learned the importance of teamwork, trust and communication. For example, the Mohawk walk, which was one of the hardest elements I’ve done at camp! The key to finishing this element is to trust each other that they’ll support you or else it would have been impossible! The same thing goes in life, if no one trusts anyone nothing would get done, people wouldn’t be able to work together. The same goes for communication, we need to talk to each other, share ideas, listen to everyone and come up with a strategy together. That is teamwork!

I enjoyed how there were themed days like wet and wild day, one of my favourites! It was nice to have a small exciting twist. I especially liked the dunk tank, that’s something I won’t forget! The staff was awesome! They’re so nice and will be right there if you’re lonely or get hurt. They make you laugh every day and tease you in a friendly way. They do crazy things that make me laugh! All of the counsellors are cool, fun and fun to be around. Everyday when my mom or dad picked me up I would tell them about all the fun I had that day during the activities, with my friends and the councillors. I want to thank you and all the councillors and the chefs for all the memorable fun I had this summer!!

My son attended camp this year for two weeks. He went last year for his first time and wanted to only go to 5 star camp this year. He counted the days until he could go from the end of school. If you asked him he would go as many weeks as he could. He went the last week of July....rain..rain...rain. He still had so much fun that he actually got us up early to get there as early as he could. He loved the councilors, the food , the activities, the entire place. He made friends fast, loved the theme days and has already told us that this is the only camp he ever wants to go to. He invited a friend, (a girl) to go for his second week. She made friends so fast and loved the camp as much as my son. When we picked them up on her first day she said next year I'm going again. The next day she said that she wanted to go for two weeks next year. Both of these kids are ten, going on eleven. We are so pleased with the camp, the activities, the people and the entire atmosphere that we will continue to send our son as long as he is in the age groups. Dear 5 Star Staff,

Last summer my two boys spent two weeks at 5 Star Camps.  Each evening when I collected them, the first half of the journey home was a babble of excited stories of their day's accomplishments.  There was time spent climbing ropes, victories of dodgeball en masse, cooling daily dips in the pool, "surviving" the wilderness and much more to be recounted to me and each other.  There were the crafts that adorned each of them each day and the art work to be prouding showed off and critiqued.  There was the remembering of the names of all their new friends, the revealing of antics of all the counsellors and the relaying of the jokes and anecdotes heard throughout the day.  The second half of the car journey home was silent.  My 5 year old asleep in his car seat, happily exhausted, and my 13 year old just awake, but also happy and exhausted. Sean and Anita Hopper, the camp owners are two people that every child should be fortunate enough to spend time with.  They are inspiring, compassionate, generous of spirit, ambitious, skilled and have an amazing love of life and learning and it's all given to the kids in a delightfully contagious manner.  I will be signing up for the camp again this year and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who wants their children to have fun and frolics that a child in summer time should have.

Hi Sean & Anita,

Our son and daughter have been going to summer camps for 6 years and both say that 5 Star Camps is the best camp they have ever attended.  They thought the counsellors, activities, the grounds, and even the food were great.  In particular our daughter thinks the unique ropes course is awesome, and our son loves the adventure of the "survival" game.  Both can't wait to go back this summer.  As parents, we know our children are enjoying their summer outdoors, doing a variety of physical activities, and learning sports, games and crafts as well as valuable life skills.  The big bonus is the staff, who are not only highly experienced and qualified, but really care about the children's development and want them to have a great time at camp.

Dear Papa Bear,

5 Star Camps is awesome!  It is full of fun, smart activities and I learned a lot while having fun.  Bulls-Eye is the best at archery and I hope to be as good as him.  When I am older, I would like to be a camp counsellor here.  See you this summer!

We can't say enough great things about 5 Star Camps.  Our son Nicholas truly had a fantastic, fun and enriching experience! We were so impressed with everything - your organization and attention to every detail, the quality of the counsellors, the fun and engaging program that was offered and most of all the respectful environment that is created. 

The 5 Star team have created lasting memories and experiences for Nicholas that he will take with him and remember fondly for years to come.  We look forward to seeing everyone next year.

Dear Sean & Anita,

5 Star Camps was actually the first summer camp program my son participated in.  I had heard of the camp through our son's school and was quite excited about it especially knowing the camp staff were the qualified teachers of Venta Preparatory School.  Each day we were greeted by energetic, enthused counsellors who always shared with you the days events. The junior counsellors were friendly, mature and well trained to work with children. 

The camp is surrounded by woodland, an ideal spot for kids to participate in all forms of outdoor recreation including swimming.  My son was always eagar to go to camp but not so eager to leave at the end of the day, needless to say he had an amazing time.  He excitedly chatted about the ropes course and the fun filled activites, games and swimming they did throughout the day.  I was very pleased that the camp offered a wonderful lunch program and before and after school care.

There is no doubt that both of our daughter love 5 Star Camps.  One of our daughters is sometimes timid to embark on outdoor activities that require you to challenge your physical well being; however, we were delighted when both of our daughters raved about how great that camp was.  They spoke very positively about the archery and the ropes course.  They just enjoyed the camp because there was so much variety.  They had fun.  I know that for myself and my husband, this camp has provided us with a peace of mind.  We know that our daughters are looked after and are provided with excellent adult supervision.  Sean and Anita have gone out of their way to ensure that they have hired the right people and the staff are just fantastic, and a lot of fun.  My daughters are more confident when they embark on any activity and we thank 5 Star Camps for providing a positive environment for our daughters to flourish.

The 5 Star Camp held at Venta is truly a wonderful experience for children.  Each day is filled with different activities that are challenging, fun, social, artistic, and age-appropriate.  The lunches and snacks are always nutritious, and the days are well-balanced with rest, shade and fluids.  The kids develop a sense of confidence as they participate in the various physical activities, and as a parent I felt reassured in the experience of the camp staff.   I am very thankful to have found a place where my children can safely play and learn outdoors in a beautiful setting, with supervising staff that are experienced and truly care about the well-being of each participant. I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend this camp, and look forward to participating again this year!
