Outdoor Leadership Camp – (ages 11-12)

At 5 Star Camps we believe that children today need to be outside enjoying what nature has to offer and not allow screen time to take over play time. This program will give your camper a new appreciation for the outdoors. Our 35 acres of wooded property is a perfect venue to house this type of programme. The week long experience will help develop their Leadership skills today and help shape them in the future.

Our Outdoor Leadership Camp for ages 11-12 is designed to give our campers skills that help them become leaders in the outdoors. This program is delivered through experiential training. The whole program follows a hands on approach.  Campers will be introduced to higher level adventure-based endeavors using cooperative and initiative games, team challenges, low ropes course elements, which include debriefing and climbing wall/ vertical playground belaying. This whole day program includes Intro to Orienteering, Fire making skills (includes safety practices), Shelter making, Knot tying and Tree identification!  Please see below list “What to Bring” to camp each day.

Leader In Training Camp – (ages 13-14)

Our Leader in Training Camp is designed for campers who are 13 and 14 years old, preferably but not limited to those who have participated in 5 Star Camp’s program in the past, and who have an interest in working in a camp environment. Campers will learn what it takes to be a camp counsellor, and will be coached by highly qualified senior members of our staff, including experienced Counsellors, our Camp Manager, and our Camp Director. They will learn all the ins and outs, from set up to tear down, participate in team building activities, learn basic first aid skills, practice interview and job application skills and much more.

Lost and Found

Unfortunately items that parents sent to camp are often misplaced or lost.  This is a fact of life, however 5 Star Camps staff do our upmost to find and return children’s items throughout the week.  In order to help minimize this ongoing problem we ask parents to clearly label everything that your child brings to cam.

Please note we travel all day with the children’s bug spray and sunscreen in our Counsellors backpack so please label these items well and we will do our best to return them at the end of the week. We recommend that you have 2 bottles of bug spray and sunscreen(spray bottle please); one to keep at home to apply before your child comes for the day and the others to give to us to keep with our counsellors. This program works extremely well, as we have an outstanding record of no sunburns!
